OCTOBER 2021
Foxpassers’ is an ongoing photo project by Karan Kumar Sachdev documenting the youth of the Foxpassers Football Club in Shivaji Nagar, Mumbai. The project illustrates many emotions that were experienced on the football ground and a narrative is formed as Karan reprocesses the emotions these players undergo between moments

Through this visual essay he translates the deep influence playing competitive sports can have– the grit, perseverance, teamwork, and hard work it teaches, and the highs and lows of playing.

A few instances he recalls from the day he photographed these children, as he narrates,

“the final whistle blew.”

Bushra lost in the semi-finals. As the crowd grew slim, she sat on the steps, slumped over her school bag, saddened for her loss, her peers gathered to comfort her.

On the dusty red earth of the public ground in Shivaji Nagar, as the summer leg of the Foxpassers Football League nears its end with remnants of overwhelming emotions.
